The traveller in me can’t help but wish that I had explored more. If only I had taken the last minute trip to Meghalaya to watch the blue lagoon, I’d be over the moon! I did unlock a number of travel milestones, but in this world that’s so big and beautiful, no amount of travelling is enough. So for 2020, to keep my travels more streamlined, I’ve shortlisted 7 unique experiences in India

1.Stay in an igloo-Sethan village-Manali

2.Drive between an ocean and a river- kundapura, karnatka

The village and beach of Marvanthe is a destination that needs to top your bucket list especially if you are a road-trip enthusiast. The place offers a unique experience of driving in the middle of a vast blue sea on one side and a river on the other. The Edappally Panvel highway stretches all along the Marvanthe Beach and makes for a memorable drive.

3.Go space-ship spotting-Chandrataal lake-lahaul Spiti(Himachal pardesh)

The moon-lake situated in Spiti Valley may be a challenge to reach, but once you’re there, there’s much more than just its enchanting landscape to marvel at. Legend has it that the lake is home to fairies who tend to steal things for every visitor to Chandrataal. Apart from this, there have been numerous reports of people spotting a space-ship-like object hovering over the mountains surrounding the lake.

4.Stay in a tree-house–Jibhi(Tirthan Valley)

Staying in a tree-house is everyone’s childhood dream, and this dream finds fruition in reality at The Hidden Burrow in Jibhi. Book a room in the tree-house and cozy it up as you sip on a mug of hot chocolate and watch snow flakes descend slowly to cover everything in a blanket of white.

5.Go dive in Blue lagoon-Krang Suri Waterfall(Meghalaya)

Nestled in the serenity of Jaintia hills, Krang Suri falls is amongst one of the most scenic waterfalls of Meghalaya. The falls is blessed with shimmering blue waters and lush green picturesque surrounding. The tranquil ambience and charming beauty of this place can rejuvenate your soul. Krang Suri is indeed a fascinating waterfall in nature’s wonderland. See it to believe it.

6.Try world’s spiciest chilly-North-East Indians States

The Bhut Jolokia, the ‘ghost chilli’ or the Naga Jolokia has been named after the fierce warriors of Nagaland, and rightly so. The hottest chilly in India is said to be 400 times hotter than tobasco sauce! If you dare to test your taste buds, then visit Assam, Manipur or Arunachal to give it a try.

7.Go Scuba diving and watch the sea glisten with streaks of silver- Andamans Islands-

If you’re travelling all the way to Andaman Islands, you might as well experience a standout experience that it offers – scuba diving. With beautiful coral reefs and marine life to explore, the scuba diving experience here is like no other. You can scuba dive at Neil Islands, Havelock Island, Port Blair and North Point in Cinque Island, and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with the mysteries of the underwater world.

Sikkim Tour Tips – Everything You Need To Know For An Amazing Sikkim Tour

Looking out of the window of your vehicle as it is moving on what looks like a typical mountain road, you feel something new and you start wondering what it could be. Maybe it is the fresh vibes emitted by the thick forest you just crossed? Or maybe it is the serenity of the meadow you saw before? Or is it the mightiness of the Kangchenjunga itself? You keep wondering but can't seem to decide on one feeling and that's the beauty of Sikkim, it's one of a kind.

Located in northeastern part of India, Sikkim is often reffered to as the "brother" to "seven sister" states of the region. Owing to its high altitute and proximity to the Himalayas, summer months from March to June and early winter months from September to December serve as the best time to visit the state. Monsoon season should be avoided as landslides are always a possibility in mountain regions.

Sikkim is accesible by road from any of its neighbouring state. You can board state transport or private buses or opt for the all time favourite car ride. For frequent flyers, Pakyong airport will seal the deal as it located about 30 kms away from the captial city of Gangtok.

The first place that comes to one's mind when thinking about visiting Sikkim is its captial city of Gangtok. Boasting off its pristine natural surrondings and the adequate amount of modernisation, Gangtok is rightly known as the "gateway to Sikkim".

Tracing back its origin to the ancient Silk route, Nathula pass is one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is a hotspot for the tourists visiting the state. Although one needs to take a permit from the concerned authorities in Gangtok to visit Nathula but the panormic view of the region that Nathula offers makes up for the efforts.

Built atop a hill, looking over the Gangtok city, the Rumtek Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Sikkim. It showcases beautiful Tibetan architecture style and also houses a number of rare artifcats. Along with a picturesque view of the Gangtok city, the Rumtek Monastery engulfs the visitors with a rare sense of peace.
